The ROR winch opening/closing system has beem modified to automatically close (NOT OPEN) at a desired time or if rain occurs. A program like N.I.N.A. can give you the time for the last acquisition.

The total cost of the entire system, including the winch from Tractor Supply, was less than $200. The winch was purchased at Tractor supply and it is AC operated and has a clutch which is necessary for the opening procedure. All other items were purched from Amazon.

The Web Switch is a BN-LINK WiFi Heavy Duty Smart Plug which can be programed using the Smart Life app on an iPhone. A LAN/internet needs to be available in your observatory.
The Bypass Switch can be any type of switch that is normally open. The switch is used to allow the roof to be moved off the cutoff switch.
The Cutoff Switch is a Roller Plunger Switch.
The fan is to help keep dew condensation off the rain sensor.
Once the roof is opened using the winch hand controller, the web switch is turned off and the winch hand controller is set/clamped in the ON (INWARD) position.
